Artist Statement:
I’ve always had a love of photography and recently I started exploring film. I like the look of film, the process, and the restrictions it presents. There is no instant gratification when shooting. You must trust your instincts, wait and see. Each shot is a deliberate choice and requires several steps before you get to see the result.
This show is a collection of photos I’ve shot over the course of 2025. I found myself taking a camera with me most everywhere I went. I was constantly looking for opportunities to capture the moments. My approach was to allow my environment to inspire what I shot. Throughout the year, I enjoyed wandering through cities, towns, and forests - pulling out my camera and collecting moments.
Artist Bio:
Austin Horst is a Broome County local. He has recently started exploring film and darkroom printing. Through trial and error along with the guidance of the Binghamton Photo staff, he has worked to develop his style. He most enjoys street and nature photography that examines things as they are. This is his 1st exhibit at The Bundy Museum. He hopes to share his journey through the moments that he has captured.
