BIO | AmarA*JK

Aw, for fuck sake: It’s that time again, my love. We have to write a bio. [Again?!]

What do they want from us? [A bio. I thought we had already covered that...]

Alright, fine. I was born in the heart of the Twilight Zone in a pre-neon time.
[Pre-neon? So, just “sometime before the mid 80's", or before the discovery of neon gas?]

You're not playing right! You're supposed to say your origin story.
[OH! Gotcha! ... I, myself, am a figment of the world’s imagination from sometime near the fall of disco.]

We're supposed to state all the things we've done that, like, validate our claim to ‘artist’ & impress people.
[How does one prove artistic validity? Shall I simply list the pieces, or is it sufficient to say “have been an artist for 20 years”]

I recall the first piece I created that I liked: It was a purple flower on paper with chalk pastels in 8th grade art.
[That's lovely. I don't remember the first thing of mine that I liked, but one of my early favorites is on the wall in front of me.]

It's weird to think how many cities I have actually had my art displayed in... either from exhibit or commission. Seattle, Chicago, London, Austin, San Francisco... Who knows how many others. Wild how it grows.
[It has honestly never occurred to me to keep track of where my work ends up. I create it, then the people who want it take it wherever they're going, I'd imagine.]

Purist. Taoist. Bitch-who-doesn’t-write-the-bio.

[I'm sitting here writing it with you right now, jackass. Let's get on with it.]

Fine. Fine. Is this where I start writing in the third-person about how we work for Tri-Cities Opera, & I'm going back to school next year, & we live in a barn with a dog & a cat?
[If you'd like, though, that seems to have already been made clear. We could just cut it short, and the people who want to know can ask...?]

I'm gonna put a bunch of QR codes below so folks can check out our YouTube (‘cause there is no chance I'm gonna get wrapped up in something else & entirely fail to edit & upload the time lapse videos) & whatever other random

internet places we lurk. I could start a “Buy me a coffee” page & put that on here. Good thing this section doesn’t sound contrived or anything.
[Stay on script, please... ]

The dog wants to go outside.
[Well, that's our bio, then, I guess. Have fun with the nerdy stuff!]
