Artist Statement
View of Angela is the collective view of the free-spirited side, slightly conflicted, but collaborating in the best harmonium alone in my art studio. Shells represent home carried around wherever one travels to. I am that cancer crab that home most matters to.
My studios have evolved from my bedroom, a porch, dining room, to finally its own entire room only for creating art. Such as over years living at home with family, raising a son, roommates, and back most happily solo. Realizing inside the spiritual wanderlust is the creative driving force that fuels the need to express and create endlessly.
Viewing the ever-changing world with a bit-lip annoyance that does not match how inside I dream of some lace and paper flowers in a sharing, caring, compassionate existence.
That is how I connected to aquatic creatures and even more so the auspiciousness and harmonious ones such as dragons, phoenix, and the ethereal as well. Feeling a side of fae and the mix of hood societal conditioning is also a realm I tap into and mix on canvas. Textures are the dimensions and add punctuation to pieces.
